Jake the fish!!!
So much to update!!! Here are some pictures and video of Jake at swimming lessons. We are sad that North Davis Gymnastics will no longer have a pool and these one on one lessons are no longer available. They are tearing it down for the new freeway interchange in Layton. My favorite part was Jake yelling "Cannon Ball," every time he jumped in the pool. Jake loves to be in the water and LOVES swimming lessons!

The topic is Organizing on a Budget: Re-purpsing what you already have to organize something else.

I want to give a shout out to 4 ladies who helped me along the way. Emily Utley for my professional picture with Emily Jane Photography. Sisters
"A perfect sister I am not, but thankful for the one I've got. ~Author Unknown"
"A sister is a forever friend. ~Author Unknown"
“A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.~ Marion C. Garretty"
Just wanted to give a shout out to my baby sister who I love dearly. She is the first wonderful gift that God gave me and contiues to be to this day.
She is courageous, she is kind, she is thoughful, she has a beautiful spirit. She does well at anything she does and is cheerful and likeable. All who know her want to call her friend. I am so grateful her. I could not ask for a better sister than her. I love you, Kath!

Visiting with old Friends
This past week we were invited by Jeff's former young men's and scout leader Jeff Flamm, to his expansive Estate in Holiday. The house is out of the old Hollywood movies and sits on 14 acres, it amazes me everytime we go.
All of the guys in his "troop," were invited for a barbecue. Above is a picture of who was there.
The expansive Estate.
2 little rascals: Jake Isom and Nathan Low. Reminisant of their Dads, Jeff and Kent who were bosom buds by the time they were at the age their son's are now.
Fourth of July Parade and Barbecue
Jake's singing group was also in the Layton Parade.......Uncle Derrick, Aunt Kathy, and cousins and favorite canines Malone and Stockton also came for the festivities.
Malone, Derrick and Kathy's mixed black Pug could put on shows he's super smart and hilariously funny. As the parade started and the police blared there sirens, Malone stood at attention and howled with the sirens finding the same pitch as the sirens as he howled. We love you Benji!

For Jeff, the holiday would no be complete without Fruit Pizza. So just for him, I slaved to make this delectable dessert (the secret is in the glaze). Love you babe!

We had a little cookout that night with my parents and my brother Jon and his kids. Here are about all the Pict's I took!

A New Sweet One
God Bless the USA
Jake's singing group from school had the opportunity to sing in the Layton Concert Series "Sounds of Freedom." Here a few Pict's and a video of them singing. I love this time of year when we celebrate this great country we live in!
I am raising a cheeser!
Love this song!

The entire cast of the concert. This was a wonderful night of music.
One of the music groups sang a tribute to all the armed forces and asked as they sang each different military song for those who have served, or have had loved one's who served or are now in active duty to stand as they sang there song. Ken and LeAnn were with us and LeAnn proudly stood for her Dad who served in the Airforce. As the song was finishing up a great big C-17 flying low (we live 5 miles from the AFB) flew past the outdoor concert stage. It was extremly moving! LeAnn and I could have canoed out of there with our tears!

I'll see you in the funny papers!
This year Jake and his Grandpa Brent have developed a favorite new pastime to do together..................reading the comics. Grandma Karen frequently saves the funnies out of the papers for Jake to read.

"Nobody reads them like Grandpa does," says Jake if we read them instead. I captured this picture a few weeks back. His T-ball cap on and asleep with the funnies. Classic!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!
Jake finally got to fulfill a "dream" of his and is playing T-ball this year. After watching "The Sandlot," hundreds of times and Mom actually remembering to sign him up, he got his wish and is playing baseball!!
I was suckered into buying baseball pants that he does not actually need for T-ball because Jake said it was his "dream," to have baseball pants like "The Great Bambino," (you have to watch The Sandlot to understand).
In T-ball they don't keep score, they just let all the kids get a chance to hit the ball and then they switch and the teams and put the team that just batted out on the field. He has had a great time and made sure he "slid" home every time. We love you Jakey!

My Time in the Spotlight
Here it is! The highly anticipated television spot! I am happy with the result. The process was quite interesting........I am going to have to blog about it later. They took about 2 1/2 hours of footage for a 2 minute segment. Crazy! In the meantime, enjoy the show! And thanks Beth for helping me figure out how to post this, you rock!

I Scream You Scream we all scream for Ice Cream!
Summer is on it's way and for those of you who live within a 50 mile radius you know what that means.................Homemade Ice Cream courtesy of Jeff Isom nearly every Sunday evening. This year rocks because we have the wicker furniture on our porch to boot as well!
Jeff and I decided a few years back that we would make homemade ice cream and invite our neighbors, friends, families, and especially people we don't know very well but would like to know better over for ice cream May through September.
We started things off this year with our Stellar, awesome Neighbors: The Petersen's The Sylvester's, and The Robert's. Here are a few pictures from the festivities....
I don't think Barb has ever taken a bad picture!
Little Curtis.. aka Hunter and future babysitter and all around cutie pie Jacey.
Silly kiddos

That's a wrap: TV Appearance

So I finished all the filming for my TV appearance on Monday June 1st on KSL Studio 5 at 11:00 am. The piece airing will be about what it means to be a confident woman in business and at home. Jake was also filmed, Jeff, sadly was in Florida on a business trip but they have pictures of us so he won't get off completly.
I am guessing they have at least 2 hours of footage of me that will be condensed into 1 or 2 minutes. How do I feel to be at the mercy of the TV producer???? A little bit of anxiety has defintely set in. I prepared as best I could with the information I was given and asked for a lot of advice from my other organizer friends who have already been on the show.
Stephanie (the producer) was a consumate professional so here's hoping she got enough footage to shine the best light on my crazy self. Let me know how you think it went.... I may want to throw up after it airs......

Cream is the new Black
So on my FB page I took a poll about what to paint my scott-free oak table and chairs that we got from someone connected to my sister and brother-in-law. It was not in the best condition but a oak table is and OK table.
The GREAT debate: Jeff and I went back and forth on what to paint it. I wanted black because it is trendy, modern, etc. and Jeff wanted white and only white so we would not have to re-paint once black went out of style.
So I asked a bunch of you, my friends to weigh in. The Verdict: Overwhelmingly black. The color we chose? Cream. Leave it to me to not be like everyone else. I hung on to the advice of those who knew my kitchen and had great design advice (thanks for the input everyone). I have a small kitchen and really don't need anything to make it look smaller and I was worried a black table would just do that. Drum roll please...........................here is the result. My awesome husband took a whole week off to help me do it. Baby, you're the best!
This little table and chairs needed a lot of TLC
The top was in especially bad shape.

In production.
The finished product.1 old table and chairs $0. 1 refinished table and chairs $120.00. We totally love it!
