Come Together 1 child to 4 in 28 days: Our Story

We are Jeff, Linda, and Jacob Isom. On December 27th we will have been married twelve years. My husband and I are each other's best friend. We love each other very, very much and have a wonderful, joyful life. Our miracle son Jacob just turned seven and is the joy of our lives. We always say he gives us as much joy as any ten kids.

Since the age of fifteen, and the eighteen and a half years since then, I have struggled with female problems. To date I have had four sugeries over the years to correct my ovaries and female reproductive system. After many years on and off of fertility treatments and misscarrying, we are physically and emotionally spent. With much prayer and soul searching, we have made the decision to adopt.

We have looked into several different adoption agencies and have decided to go with a child from Africa we can give a better life than they would have otherwise growing up in an orphanage. The cost of adopting a child from Africa is about $25,000.00. This includes taking our son Jacob with us to welcome his new little brother from Africa to our family.

We do not have an employer or generous family member providing us with any help financially. We are doing this all on our own.

On December 11th and 12th from 10am to 4pm we are having a fundraiser/craft boutique at our house.(414 South 1125 West, Layton

We will have lots of different crafts, jewelry, etc available for purchase (see below). We need help getting the word out and passing out fliers, please let us know if you have an item to donate, are willing to help, or just come shopping. Everything will be very reasonably priced. We also have set up an account with paypal if you would like to donate that way (see upper right corner) We will accept any donations no matter how small.

This is very, very difficult for us to do, ask for help and do a fundraiser. We do not have a company reimbursing us for the costs, we are doing this solely on our own. In talking to other famlies who have also done this soley by themselves, they suggested we have a fundraiser or two to help offset the costs. We know a lot of people who have fallen on hard times. We are gratefully for any help from anyone.
